NORTH WALES JUNIOR TOURNAMENT
BANGOR RUGBY CLUB MARCH 26th 2007
About 250 children and 1000 adults crowded the fields at Cae Milltir to see a festival of junior rugby in the sunshine. The North Wales Junior Rugby Tournament for age groups 11 and 10 attracted teams from all over the area who made a bright spectacle as the visiting clubs set up their awnings around the grounds and covered the three pitches at Bangor Rugby Club with youngsters in their colourful kit. The games were played on four pitches specially prepared for junior rugby. The hosts, Bangor won their first two games in the under 11 group but faded out to the strong teams from Mold, Ruthin and Nant Cowy. By the time the finals kicked off at 4.30 only two clubs were left in it and Nant Conwy beat Ruthin in both age group finals to take the trophies. The other teams to make it to the semi finals were Mold, Llanidloes and Colwyn Bay. The standard of rugby was brilliant and the future of Welsh rugby is safe if these youngsters are representative of the future generations.
Trophies were presented by Bangor President Alan Davies.
