The Citizens came out on top in this crucial basement battle in a hard game that swung both ways. Bangor totally dominated the first half territorially and eventually centre Calvin Williams broke the defence with a try in the corner. When forward Tom Yardley added a second they looked to be well in control and went further ahead with a try from scrum half Dan Jones converted by outside half Tom Belt to put them 17 – 0 up at the break. If they thought they were cruising to a win they were quickly disabused of the idea when Abergele found fresh impetus after the break quickly scoring a try through hooker Tom Hilliard. With the wind in their sails they quickly rolled Bangor over again with a try from full back Richard Medlicott. Bangor had great difficulty getting hold of the ball but when they at last launched an attack substitute prop Mikey Roberts set up a try with a power run and back row forward Osian Jones finished off with a try converted by Belt. The visitors were not finished and again dominated possession and eventually added a third try from second row forward Chris Mejea converted by Ben Pannet.

Bangor youth had another good league win over Bethesda running out winners by 27 – 5 and look set to challenge for a place in the top division after the mid season reorganisation.
