Bangor took the opportunity to give some less regular players a game and they did well for their club shaving a 1 point win over visitors Llangollen.

Bangor were put on the back foot through most of the first half but came out on top through dogged defence and taking their few opportunities to run in two tries from deep both through left winger Gethin Jones who showed a good turn of pace. The first touchline conversion hit the upright and bounced the wrong side of the other but Nick Dundee added an extra penalty to give the citizens a 13 point lead at the break.

Bangor had less success in the second half and was rocked by an early try from Ethan Scott when he found himself with no defenders out wide. James Claybrook added a fine conversion and then a penalty to bring the visitors back in the game and with the wind in their sails Scott added a second converted try to take the lead. Bangor recovered some composure and ended strongly with Dundee putting the ball into the corner to set up their attacks. Setting up a maul from the lineout Bangor appeared to get a clear try breaking off at the side but the referee judged it was held up. They made up for this soon after when Gruff Tudur picked the ball up at the back of the scrum and Tom Yardley did well get onto the recycled ball and break over the line for a converted try. Bangor held on to the end for a narrow pass into the next round. Next week Bangor are back to a league battle at home to Shotton Steel.
