The inaugural Banc - Williams memorial match was a great success with many friendships renewed. A total of 60 players took to  the field representing the present team and a team of exiles. The exiles had some excellent players and the score line was only 5 - 12 into the second half but with some older legs tiring Bangor pulled away towards the end to finish comfortable winners 43 -12. The score line was secondary to the occasion as everyone stood for a minutes silence for Alwyn Banc and Irfon Williams and at the end some of Alwyn's ashes were scattered by his close friends and neighbours Iwan and Carwyn Roberts.
