Bangor U 17's 3 - Coleg Glynliffon 17
Monday Feb.13th 2006
Bangor needed to get a good lead with the wind at their backs but only led 3 - 0 at half time thanks to a penalty from Sam Williams. The teams were very evenly matched at this stage. Bangor declined several penalty kicks, opting for the tap instead but did not cross the line. Glynliffon had a slight weight advantage in the pack but Bangor dominated the line outs thanks to some brilliant work by Chris Roberts.
Glynliffon took the initiative from the restart. They showed more speed and power in the loose and pounced on Bangor's mistakes getting two quick tries and a third late on. Bangor played very well in this their second game and with a squad of 22 players present are still looking good for the future.

Bangor U 17's 5 - Bethesda U 17's 45
Wednesday Jan.25th 2006
This was the first outing for the Bangor squad against the well drilled Bethesda team and they acquitted themselves well holding out for a long time before a controversial penalty try put Bethesda on the score sheet. Good defence and stout resistance kept the score down to 0 - 14 at half time. Although Bethesda scored again soon after the restart, Bangor playing with spirit scored a try after No.8 Calum MacKay made a storming run falling short of the line. With the rest of the pack in support, they made several pickup and drive moves that saw Alex Lovel cross for the try. Running out of steam Bangor capitulated in the last quarter and Bethesda ran in four more great tries. Scrum Half Sion Williams was very prominent for Bangor and looks a good prospect for the future.
Bangor's performance was so encouraging that Rugby Director Alwyn Bevan announced that they would be turning out a full Youth team in next seasons youth league to keep players in the club instead of letting them go to other teams as in the recent past.
